Yadira Camacho a Hero herself- Voted Teacher of the Year
Yadira was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. At the age of five, her parents decided to move back to Puerto Rico, their home. She was raised there until the age of 16 when she returned to the United States with her family for her senior year of high school and graduation. She went on to the Universidad de Puerto Rico en Humacao, Gateway Community College in Connecticut and finally graduated with a Bachelors of Arts from the University of South Florida in Tampa. After earning her degree, she entered the education field, first as a paraprofessional educator and then as a full-time Spanish teacher.
Along with being a professional, she loves spending significant time with her family. She is married to her other half, David! They have been married for twelve years and will be till death do them apart. David enjoys Star Wars, Lego, video games, music and more. When talking about David, Yadira said: “He means the world to me, and encourages and supports all I do, no matter what. I am extremely blessed to have the family that I have!”
Yadira also has two kids, who she values spending time with and when asked, she calls them “creative and loving.” Her first born’s name is Yasiel, he is eleven and enjoys gaming, spending time with family and friends, and coming up with creative ways to annoy his sister whom he loves very much. Her second child is seven year-old Anais. She loves to sing, make funny voices, and fashion. She is definitely the most outgoing person in the family and loves her brother immensely.
Yadira was asked a few personal, and fun questions. Below are her responses.
What made you want to be a REALTOR?
My good friend Dory thought it would be a good idea, and suggested it to me! My favorite thing about being a Realtor is when I show homes…especially when they are not in well condition. I can see the possibilities from the moment I walk in. I see what CAN be beautiful. My parents taught me this as we restored homes throughout my early years, and they showed me how to envision what could be rather than picture only what my physical eyes could see.
What would you say is your passion?
My passion is to make DREAMS come true.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not selling Real Estate?
I enjoy spending time with my family the most. I also like creating things, gardening, teaching and speaking Spanish!
What is your favorite movie or TV show?
Korean Dramas are my favorite.
Do you have any hobbies?
I enjoy using my Silhouette to make “stuff” and I enjoy working on “projects”… Any kind of project. I make cakes and piñatas for my kids birthdays. I like to paint on walls, canvas, rocks, frames, or anything you can imagine…even sticks! All in all there is never a dull moment in my life, and art makes me happy.
Why did you choose to be part of Homes for Heroes?
Why not?…I am a daughter of a Hero, married a Hero, and I am a Hero myself!
